Welcome to my blog!

Hello and thanks for stopping by! I'm a mama to my two sweet kiddos, Adalyn who is 2 and my new baby boy Mason. I started blogging after Adalyn was born as a way to write down memories for her to be able to look back at and ended up printing my first year's blog into a book so my babies have their childhood memories documented forever. By day, I'm a physical therapist. By night and weekend, I'm a loving wife to my husband Scott and a totally in love mama to my dear babies and the center of my world, Adalyn Rose and Mason Scott, along with our two furbabies. When I found out I was pregnant I knew I would "try" breastfeeding. Now that they are here, I'm a breastfeeding, babywearing, extended rearfacing, part-time co-sleeping, babyfood making, constantly researching mama. Some people call it crunchy... I call it living better for them... A little at a time! And this is our story...

My quirky 2 year old

Adalyn has been developing quite the little personality lately. Some of the things she has been doing make me giggle and smile while others make me wonder what I have gotten myself into....

Some of Adalyn's stand out performances lately...

Clearly I gave birth to a pirate. When the dogs are barking or we are in a store and a child is misbehaving or whenever someone else is bothering her she will give them a nice loud "Arrrgh."

When she has a very important decision to make (you know, like whether to have milk or water with dinner or whether to watch Nemo or Monsters, Inc.) she will roll her eyes up as far a she can and put her index finger to her chin and scratch her chin as of she is pondering the meaning of life itself. This is usually accompanied by at least 6-10 "Ummmm"s until she makes up her mind.

She has discovered the art of avoidance. If you want her to do something she doesn't want to do (like God forbid kiss her mother on demand or eat a dinner that isn't on her toddler approved menu...) she will get a sweet pathetic face and rub her eyes along with a very sad sounding "Mommy, I tired." There are days she has asked to go to sleep a 5:30 PM just to try to get out of doing something she doesn't want to do.

Baby girl is a white girl. 100%. And her dance moves prove it. She has no rhythm at all, poor thing. I try so hard not to laugh at her when she is shaking her little booty to "hot dog, hot dog, hot diggity dog" on the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Another trait we will attribute to her father.
