Welcome to my blog!

Hello and thanks for stopping by! I'm a mama to my two sweet kiddos, Adalyn who is 2 and my new baby boy Mason. I started blogging after Adalyn was born as a way to write down memories for her to be able to look back at and ended up printing my first year's blog into a book so my babies have their childhood memories documented forever. By day, I'm a physical therapist. By night and weekend, I'm a loving wife to my husband Scott and a totally in love mama to my dear babies and the center of my world, Adalyn Rose and Mason Scott, along with our two furbabies. When I found out I was pregnant I knew I would "try" breastfeeding. Now that they are here, I'm a breastfeeding, babywearing, extended rearfacing, part-time co-sleeping, babyfood making, constantly researching mama. Some people call it crunchy... I call it living better for them... A little at a time! And this is our story...

Addy's first haircut

Wow. I'm way behind of this blogging business. It was nearly a month ago I suppose. Maybe even longer when I received a phone call from my hair salon stating that I had won a drawing and would receive a certain amount off my next service. It was like my brain was on word vomit mode and I suddenly spit out "Oh, well I just had a cut and color... can I use it for my daughter?" Wait brain. Hold up! What did you just say????

A haircut. For Addy. My baby. Was I ready for this? Another step away from babyhood and straight on to toddlerism. Don't like it. Not one bit.

You can ask my husband. I had severe anxiety over this appointment in the days leading up to it. I considered cancelling it numerous times. But when the day came I did drag that sweet girl into the salon and after getting her and her stuffed bunny, Lily, in their appropriate chairs I repeated to the stylist at least 7 times... "NO BANGS". "So you just want a trim?", she would continue to ask me. "Yes... but NO BANGS." Holy paranoia. I don't like situations I don't have control over. And somone taking a pair of scissors to those sweet blonde locks was more than I could handle.

Addy, fortunately, handled the situation much better than me. Bribed, of course, with an impendng lollipop, she sat still and sweet in the chair with her little cape. Until it was time for the blowdrier... she literally slid herself down and out of the chair when that time came.

But a trim it was. And that's all it will be for quite some time. We are going to wait awhile for haircut number two. Thank.you.very.much.
