Welcome to my blog!

Hello and thanks for stopping by! I'm a mama to my two sweet kiddos, Adalyn who is 2 and my new baby boy Mason. I started blogging after Adalyn was born as a way to write down memories for her to be able to look back at and ended up printing my first year's blog into a book so my babies have their childhood memories documented forever. By day, I'm a physical therapist. By night and weekend, I'm a loving wife to my husband Scott and a totally in love mama to my dear babies and the center of my world, Adalyn Rose and Mason Scott, along with our two furbabies. When I found out I was pregnant I knew I would "try" breastfeeding. Now that they are here, I'm a breastfeeding, babywearing, extended rearfacing, part-time co-sleeping, babyfood making, constantly researching mama. Some people call it crunchy... I call it living better for them... A little at a time! And this is our story...

Introducing... Hopper #2

At the end of this past weekend, out of nowhere, Hopper took a turn for the worse. All of a sudden, he was swimming sideways and getting stuck under the filter. I found myself getting sad. Not for the fish we won at the carnival, but for the little girl who had grown so attached to him in such a short amount of time. She would routinely go over to visit him, watch him, and to help feed him. She loved taking care of Hopper, and now all of a sudden, he was fading and I pictured the tears the next morning when the tank was empty. Addy and I went to her room at bedtime like we normally do and she got this worried look on her face. She started saying his name "Hop-hopper" and pointing to the door of her room. I knew what she wanted... she wanted a chance to come say goodnight to Hopper before she drifted off to dreamland. Relunctantly, I took her back downstairs and she happily kissed his tank goodnight and waved. After putting her into bed, Scott and I just looked at her. We knew what had to be done. The next morning, we kept Adalyn as busy as possible so she wouldn't have a chance to see the empty fishtank. We managed to keep her away from it that morning and later that day, while Adalyn was at the babysitters, Daddy came home over his lunch break and introduced Hopper #2 to his new home. When Addy and I got home at the end of the day, she was thrilled to see Hopper as usual. She was none the wiser to our secret plot of Operation Goldfish Replacement. Toddler crisis (with what would have involved lots of tears) averted..... Introducing... Hopper #2:
