Welcome to my blog!

Hello and thanks for stopping by! I'm a mama to my two sweet kiddos, Adalyn who is 2 and my new baby boy Mason. I started blogging after Adalyn was born as a way to write down memories for her to be able to look back at and ended up printing my first year's blog into a book so my babies have their childhood memories documented forever. By day, I'm a physical therapist. By night and weekend, I'm a loving wife to my husband Scott and a totally in love mama to my dear babies and the center of my world, Adalyn Rose and Mason Scott, along with our two furbabies. When I found out I was pregnant I knew I would "try" breastfeeding. Now that they are here, I'm a breastfeeding, babywearing, extended rearfacing, part-time co-sleeping, babyfood making, constantly researching mama. Some people call it crunchy... I call it living better for them... A little at a time! And this is our story...

Addy Ro-Ro is nearly 14 months old!

I've been slacking a bit with the blogging. I need to get some thoughts down before I forget all the crazy adorable things my sweet Addy Ro-Ro has been doing the past few weeks (this wouldn't be a problem if I wasn't slacking even worse with her baby book!)

It's been a rainy fall. Makes me sad because its my favorite time of the year to be outside doing all kinds of fun autumn activities and I was looking so forward to introducing you to many of them. Unfortunately we haven't been able to do nearly as much as I had planned because we've been stuck inside looking out at the raindrops more often than not.

But when we do get outside, you have a blast, Adalyn! You love being outside and that makes this mama super happy. I'm so glad you love to run and play and be active and that you aren't afraid to play in the grass and leaves and get dirty!! You are going to be so much fun my little one as you continue to get older.

On our fall walks, you love to collect leaves to take home to show Daddy if he isn't with us. Our walks are short and time consuming because you, Miss Little Independent, insist on walking yourself and refuse to walk past an especially crunchy leave without purposefully stepping on it to hear the crunch. Thank you for reminding me to take a few moments to enjoy the simple things in life... I love you for that!

You have become so proud of all the things you are learning. You are able to point to your nose, ears, belly, toes and occasionally your knees when asked. You mimic faces - your favorites are blinking, scrunching your nose and pretending you are blowing on food to cool it off. And at last, it has happened. You have mastered the art of shaking your head "No" and it's your most favorite response to everything I ask you to do or tell you not to do. T.R.O.U.B.L.E.

You continue to love swimming classes, despite the freezing water  (which makes Mama dread it, but you love it so I tolerate it.. for you). You are getting very very good at kicking your legs and moving you arms and love the part of the class when we sing and dance in the water (especially when its time for the Wheels on the Bus song, which has quickly become your favorite!).

You have learned the sign for "All Done" and use it appropriately and this makes meal time run much more smoothly. Now you simply sign rather than throwing the rest of your food on the floor to indicate you've had enough. Mama cannot express enough how happy this makes her! Your vocabulary is developing slowly... You are currently saying Dada (or Da-dee), Mama,  Addy (Ah-Dee), See, and Hi. Daddy has taught you to mimic a panting puppy (Thanks for that, Daddy!) And you are slowly beginning to mimic EVERYTHING!
