My daughter never naps for me. I mean, she naps, but I'm usually lucky if I get a 45 minute cat nap out of her a few times per day. She naps for the babysitter for substantial amounts of time... but that I credit to the 35-40 minute car ride in the dark in the morning. That car ride seems to put her in a coma-like sleep, and then she will sleep for 3-4 HOURS after I drop her off. But on the weekends... forget it! Well I don't know what lucky star I wished on last night, but today she took a three hour nap!!!! Woot! We were hoping to get her out in the snow today to get some pictures of her and the horrid white stuff, and the longer her nap went the more I thought we might miss our opportunity. Finally, after three hours, we went upstairs to check on her... well the dogs went in to check on her ahead of us, because they are always worried about what Little Adalyn is up to.
I guess she wasn't expecting the dogs to be the first thing she saw when she woke up!
Well, after she was awake, we bundled her up, and sure enough, we had our snow day. I'm not sure what she thought about it. She was neither amused or terrified.
Sunday nights are always bittersweet to me. I know everyone gets the Sunday blues about going back to work on Monday and starting another week of work. My struggles lie in that I'm blessed with an entire weekend and half a day on Friday to spend oodles of time with my baby girl and then Sunday night comes, I put her to bed, and dwell on the fact that when Monday morning comes I have to spend quite a bit of time away from her. Mondays are always and still my hardest day of the week as far as getting through the work day and being away from her. By Tuesday and Wednesday I'm in my work groove and its not *quite* as hard to leave her for hours each day, and then by Friday I'm chomping at the bit for another weekend to spend 24 hours a day with her. But those Mondays... man are they rough on this mama.
Here's my Public Service Announcement for the day:
Don't give a 5 month old control over the spoon!
Welcome to my blog!
Hello and thanks for stopping by! I'm a mama to my two sweet kiddos, Adalyn who is 2 and my new baby boy Mason. I started blogging after Adalyn was born as a way to write down memories for her to be able to look back at and ended up printing my first year's blog into a book so my babies have their childhood memories documented forever. By day, I'm a physical therapist. By night and weekend, I'm a loving wife to my husband Scott and a totally in love mama to my dear babies and the center of my world, Adalyn Rose and Mason Scott, along with our two furbabies. When I found out I was pregnant I knew I would "try" breastfeeding. Now that they are here, I'm a breastfeeding, babywearing, extended rearfacing, part-time co-sleeping, babyfood making, constantly researching mama. Some people call it crunchy... I call it living better for them... A little at a time! And this is our story...
So cute. Katelyn had her first snow experience as well.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree that Sunday nights are hard because I don't want to go back to school on Mondays.
